How the draw works
List everyone, their wishlist notes and any pairs who should not draw each other.
Press draw. Names are shuffled until everyone gives to one person and receives from one.
Each person opens their own link, taps to reveal and sees who to buy for, plus budget and date.
Fold-over cards for a table or a tree
No phones at the party? Print cards instead. The front shows a name, the back half holds the secret. Fold it once, hand it over, and nobody sees a thing until it is opened. Four cards fit on each A4 or Letter page.
Want house rules? Secret Santa rules that keep it fun (and fair) covers budgets, swaps and what to do when someone drops out.
Questions
Can the organiser see who drew whom?
Not unless they open a link. The draw happens in your browser and each result is tucked inside that person's own link, so you can send the links on without reading them. If you are taking part yourself, open only your own.
Are our names stored anywhere?
No. Names, notes and links stay in this browser and in the links you send. Nothing about your group is kept on a server.
What if someone loses their link?
Copy the draw code from the result panel and keep it somewhere private. Enter that code under Draw code with the same names and settings, and the same links come back. Treat the code like a spoiler.
Is the draw really random?
Yes. Names are shuffled until every person gives to exactly one person, nobody draws themselves, and no listed pair draws each other. A draw code makes the shuffle repeatable, so the same names and code always give the same result.
How many people can join?
From 3 to 40. For a big group, add pairs for partners and family members who already buy for each other.
