How the split works
- Points. Each person’s points are hours × weight. Leave the weight blank and it counts as 1, so the split follows hours alone.
- Share. A person’s share is their points divided by everyone’s points.
- Amount. The share is multiplied by the pool left after any house share, then rounded the way you chose.
Minutes are kept exact: 7:45 is 7.75 hours, while 7.45 is 7 hours 27 minutes. Each hours box shows how it was read, so a typing slip is easy to spot.
What happens to odd cents
Most pools do not divide evenly. With nearest cent, every share is rounded and the small difference is settled by the leftover rule. With always down, every share is cut to the cent and the remainder is shown by name. Either way, the amounts add back up to the pool.
Shifts and weeks
Add a shift for each service. Give every shift its own pool, or enter one weekly pool and let the points from each shift decide how it is shared. The table shows each shift and each person’s total.

For the 31 December rush
- Enter the weights before the night, so nobody is guessing at 2 a.m.
- Use h:mm for hours straight off the rota, and decimals for hours from a till report.
- Print the sheet, tick “Counted” when the cash is counted and “Paid” when it is handed over.
- Keep the CSV with the shift notes so the numbers are easy to find later.
Questions
Can someone have a weight of 0?
Yes. Their hours are listed, their points are 0, and their share is 0.
What does a house share do?
It sets aside the percentage you type before the team split. At 100% the whole pool is kept and everyone shows 0.
Which currencies work?
Twelve, including yen and won, which have no decimals. Amounts follow each currency’s own number of decimals.
